Arashi’s Kazunari Ninomiya’s (27) upcoming drama has been voted as the show most people want to see this autumn, according to a survey carried out by music website BIG GLOBE, it has been revealed today.

Ninomiya’s drama, “フリーター、家を買う (Freeter, Ie wo Kau)” is a series based on a best-seller novel, and is the first drama the popstar has been in since “流星の絆 (Ryusei no Kizuna)” two years ago. This, BIG GLOBE reports, is a big factor in attracting Arashi fans.

“Q10 (Cute)” ranked in second, with much attention being drawn to its fresh cast including Takeru Sato and Atsuko Maeda from AKB48.

“医龍 Team Medical Dragon 3″ ranked in third, attracting fans from its first two series.

With the new song "Love Rainbow" for Matsumoto Jun's drama: Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku; it is also confirmed on the latest flyer for Ninomiya Kazunari's movie, Ooku that Arashi will be singing the theme song called, "Dear Snow".

Apparently there is a rumor that they'll be singing the theme song for GANTZ as well. Entitled, "In the Future" which was listed in another new flyer. Though it is too early to be announced so it could be false.

It was reported that Ninomiya Kazunari (Arashi) and Nagasawa Masami have been in a good relationship, however, “Syu-kan Josei“(July 6th issue) reported that they have broken up.

According to the gossip magazine, Ninomiya used to visit Masami’s place very often, but he stopped going over since March. A neighbor of Masami’s also testified that she stopped seeing Ninomiya since March.

March is when Masami made an appearance on “Waratte iitomo!” as a guest, and the audience was worried about how skinny Masami was.

Satoshi Ohno (大野智) of Arashi (嵐) attended the press conference of "Kaibutsu Kun/怪物くん (lit. Little monster)" on April 11. This is the first time for this manga of Fujiko Fujio A to be played by real person.

It's a story about the prince of the monster land, "Kaibutsu Kun" and his friends, Dracula, Wolfman, and Franken, come to the human world, encounter with Hiroshi and his sister Utako, and start to aware of "What a king should be."
As in the original work, Ohno who plays Kaibutsu-kun appears with a blue-red cap, "I was worried about my age at the beginning. I am about 30." said Ohno with a wry smile, "But, after starting the shoot, I gradually feel at home. In this appearance, I feel rejuvenated. My hair is dyed into brown as well after two year absence."
The theme song "Yukaitsu-Kaibutsukun (ユカイツーカイ怪物くん)" of the anime version which is famous for the phrase "Ka-I, Kaikai♪ (カーイ、カイカイ♪)" is used as the BGM and is solo sang by Ohno. "I know the song before. However, I am surprised to be no.3. They told me to 'sing as yourself.' So I sang it merrily." He seems enjoy the singing a lot.

The theme song is "Monster", the new song by Arashi, and the single will release on May 19. "Yukaitsu-Kaibtsukun" will also be recorded into CD later. "All members suit Kaibutsu-kun's image. Choreography is full of mysterious feeling as well. But Aiba-chan struggled to memorize it." Ohno said happily.

The original author Fujiko commented: "I have watched the drama and I appreciate that all characters fit perfectly." As to the Kaibutsu-kun played by Ohno, "Surprisingly I almost cried. Even I drew the story, it is much better than expected."

Arashi (嵐) have been appointed as the Japanese Tourism Promotion Representative volunteer (観光立国ナビゲーター) of Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. On the press conference on April 8, Sho Sakurai (櫻井翔), Masaki Aiba (相葉雅紀) and Jun Matsumoto (松本潤) made their appearance and announced: "We are waiting for your coming in Japan." with Sakurai in English, Aiba in Chinese and Matsumoto in Korean. Both Sakurai and Aiba made impressive announcement, but Matsumoto was the only one tongue-tied. "I screwed up at the most important situation. I have to practice more!" said Matsumoto.

Arashi, as the Japanese Tourism Promotion Representative Navigator, are having various promotion activities in China and other East Asia countries with the new catch-phrase "Japan. Endless Discovery."

When they were asked which feature of Japan you want to express, Sakurai answered: "Drift ices can be found in Hokkaido at the north, and coral and beautiful ocean can be seen in Okinawa at the south. With spring, summer, autumn and winter, I want to let everybody know the rich nature of Japan." Aiba said: "Fashion and Anime are properties of Japan as well, and they are what I would like to show." Matsumoto: "I have traveled in Japan twice by now in this year, and found that the food cultures differ from place to place. I will try to impress people with different culture of different places of Japan."

The new TV commercial of Arashi is prepared, for their future activities in Asia. As the "Face of Japan", will Arashi add more splendors to Japan's charm?

"Tokujo Kabachi!", a dorama starring Sakurai Sho (28) and Horikita Maki (21) has now officially been criticized by the Japanese bar association, it has been learned today.

The dorama focuses on the work of notary publics and their settlement negotiations. Now the Osaka bar association claims that the characters of the dorama often actively violated the Bengoshi-Ho, the Lawyers law. There is something called the Hiben Katsudo, a law that exists for the prevention of non-attorney activities. It basically says that only lawyers may claim recompenses in cases of traffic accidents, divorces, insolvency, debts and so on. Notary publics are no lawyers and therefore they have no right trying to get recompenses from the other party.

There may have been situations where the characters in TokuKaba exceeded their powers, but it's based on a manga and just a fictional story. However, the bar association sees it as a promotion of such acts and wrote TBS a letter voicing their protest against the dorama. They are not suing them or anything, but they expect an apology in form of canceling any DVD and rebroadcasting plans.

On April 01 the two Arashi members Ninomiya Kazunari (26) and Sakurai Sho (28) have been spotted enjoying the cherry trees that are currently in full bloom. Occasions where people go out to gaze at the beautiful cherry blossoms like this are called ohanami or sakura viewing, a term most of you have probably heard already. Anyway, Ninomiya and Sakurai haven't been alone that day, the young actresses Mizukawa Asami (26) and Eikura Nana (22) were with them all the time.

Sounds like a great and fun outing of some very popular young stars in Japan. They didn't even try to disguise themselves and simply enjoyed being together. So what's the occasion? Is it time for more dating rumors again?

"Most people might still not be aware, but Mizukawa is actually very close with the members of Arashi. Even in their private time they often go out to have some meals together. Once she appeared together with Aiba Masaki (27) in a movie and there were rumors about them being in a relationship. Eikura, on the other hand, is a very good friend of Mizukawa," an official of a broadcasting station explained the foursome.

That seems to explain all the fun they seem to have had that day. People said that Mizukawa simply wasn't able to stop smiling all day long. However, it wasn't just a random get-together under the trees, they've actually had a reason to be together.

"April 01 was the birthday of Takahashi Katsumi (49). The four of them have been seen carrying a cake to a café and congratulating him on his birthday," an official from an agency resolved the situation. Several other influential actors such as Tsutsumi Shinichi (45) or Toda Keiko (52) attended the little party at this café near the cherry trees as well. The staff at the café even had to stay 40 minutes longer than the official closing time, because the group simply had too much fun and didn't want to end the party. The group then split up while some of them decided to keep partying elsewhere, a few of them even until 2 am in the night.

It was the tabloid FLASH that reported about this event and published several snapshots from the party. Eikura was said to be in a very good mood. She was a bit tipsy and linked arms with the others. Ninomiya was kind of leading the foursome to the party and was carrying a lot of stuff for them. Nagasawa Masami is know to be good friends with Mizukawa and Eikura as well and it was surprising not to see her at the party, but I guess she tries to avoid any public appearances together with Ninomiya.

On November 20th in the evening, the popular five member group took over Tokyo Disney Sea to hold a special event. [Tokyo Disney Sea is a theme park adjacent to Tokyo Disneyland.] Artists such as Yazawa Eikichi and Tohoshinki have also performed events in the same place.

Arashi appeared at 'Mediterranean Harbor' on a boat. They sang a greatest hits medley in which they performed 6 songs including 'One Love' and 'A･RA･SHI'. At the last part of the show 44 Disney characters led by Mickey Mouse joined in. While fireworks went up, the Arashi members concluded the event with a dreamlike finale.

3500 pairs of fans, or 7000 people were invited to the event for free. 5 million applications had been sent. That meant that 1400 applications had been made for each highly sought after ticket. Matsumoto Jun wryly smiled and revealed "Even all my family members couldn't win a ticket." All five members had visited Tokyo Disney Resort countless times since they had been little, so they really enjoyed holding an event there. Group leader Ohno Satoshi said "We still can't believe it. It's a surreal experience."

The Arashi members host a regularly broadcast TV program titled '嵐の宿題くん / Arashi no Shukudai-kun [lit. 'Arashi members' homework']'. The members tackle many challenges that are (erroneously) dubbed 'shukudai [宿題; homework]'! In one episode TOKIO member Nagase was the guest, and together they held a funny sports festival! Have any of you seen the broadcast?

The five Arashi members all wore identical sports jerseys and bandanas around their heads. They did not look at all like the Arashi that fans are used to seeing! The artists were divided into two separate teams each with three players. They competed in a 5 meter 'caterpillar race'. [In a 'caterpillar race' each team lines up single file, and the player at the front bends over with hands on the ground. Each successive player bends over and holds onto the ankles of the player in front of him; thus becoming a 'caterpillar'. The 'caterpillar' has to race around a cone or other object all the while making sure the 'caterpillar' formation doesn't fall apart.] Ohno, Matsumoto and Sakurai teamed up, while the other team's members were Aiba, Ninomiya and Nagase.

Since they usually perform as a group, fans probably would think they have great teamwork. It turned out things weren't that simple. Both teams were huffing and puffing while having trouble moving inside the narrow race track. The moment Nagase reached the finish line he shouted "I broke my personal record!" Which was a bit strange since Nagase had said it was his first time to compete in a 'caterpillar race'! It was actually Ohno's team that won the match. Why had team Nagase been so confident they had won?

嵐/Arashi, celebrating their 10th year, will appear at a drama,"最後の約束/Saigo no Yakusoku" with all the members together, and it has been 10 years since they appeared all together. The theme of the drama is "Bond" and it is a suspense drama that 5 people accidentaly meet as hostages of the huge building and fight against a terrorist. Arashi will never stop and nobody can stop them. 2010 seems to be Arashi's year again with their new drama in spring.

Popular idol group Arashi's music DVD has broken the records again. Released on October 28th, Arashi's '5X10 All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009' sold 73,000 copies in its second week, taking the number 2 spot on the November 16th Oricon rankings. The total sales have reached over 500,000 copies. In comparison, KAT-TUN's 'Real Face Film', released on January 22, 2007 sold a total of 476,000 copies after being released for almost 3 years. Arashi has broken the record sales in music DVD history, with the most sales recorded in a two week period.

'5X10 All the BEST!' sold 428,000 copies in the first week, earning the record of the highest first week sales, as well as the highest cumulative sales within a two week period.

In addition, new on the charts this week was idol group NEWS with their 'NEWS LIVE DIAMOND' DVD, which sold 142,268 copies, taking the first position in the ranking. The DVD was released on November 4th, becoming their fourth consecutive release that has reached number one. Their previous release, 'NEWS CONCERT TOUR pacific 2007-2008-THE FIRST TOKYO DOME CONCERT' sold 141,593 copies, breaking their own personal best record.

Masako Ohara of the Kuwabata Ohara comedy duo has revealed in her official blog on Monday that Takashi Tajima and Takahiro Kochi's Tokujō Kabachi!! Kabachitare! 2 workplace manga will be adapted into a live-action drama series next January. The story centers around the employees of a legal document firm.

Ohara herself will appear in the first episode, while the main cast consists of Sho Sakurai (Honey and Clover, Yatterman) of the Arashi musical group and Maki Horikita (Always: Sunset on Third Street, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva).

Tokujō Kabachi!! Kabachitare! 2 has been running in Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine since 1999, and there are now 18 compiled book volumes published. Both the Tokujō Kabachi!! Kabachitare! 2 manga and the original Kabachitare! manga are the creations of Naniwa Kin'yudo creator Yuuji Aoki. The original Kabachitare! manga has already been adapted into a live-action television drama series in 2001 with a different cast and an average 19.3% rating. Naniwa Kin'yudo was adapted into two live-action television drama series in 1996 and 2007.

The Tokujō Kabachi!! Kabachitare! 2 television series will premiere in January on Japan's TBS network.

Recently as part of a project for a TV program Arashi member Ohno Satoshi sat down to discuss art with pop artist Nara Yoshitomo. Ohno has gradually been cultivating his artistic side. Ohno asked Nara a question about a problem most fans probably weren't aware of. "How do you produce art when you get stuck? From a short while ago I've been going nowhere." Nara cheered Ohno with words of encouragement. "Getting 'stuck' is a sign that you are trying to improve yourself. If you don't struggle, you won't find inspiration." Ohno commented about their discussion. "It was a really great experience." He also said that afterwards he was able to start working on his painting again.

Nara said that he was surprised to find that Ohno was genuinely passionate about art. Since Ohno was so serious, Nara quickly found himself replying just as seriously as Ohno. "I was most astonished about how he has managed to stay motivated and create all those artwork; despite his tight schedule as a popular celebrity. When he was talking about art, he seemed genuinely happy. It was not part of his job. He was enjoying talking about something he loves, but he was also very serious about it...I really had fun!"

After they said goodbye, the following incident happened...While Nara got on his car, Ohno came out to see him off. From the window Nara called out to Ohno. "I told him 'If you run into any problems again, give me a call!" So I gave him my phone number, and as soon as I started driving my cell-phone rang. It's been a while since I last encountered someone so vigorous and youthful."

From the TV footage and their words, it was easy to see that both men truly thought that meeting each other was a great experience. Might the super-popular idol and world-class artist collaborate in the near future? Ohno seems to have taken a new step forward into a new field.

Arashi, celebrating 10th anniversary, released a new DVD "5×10 All the BEST! CLIPS1999-2009," and ranked No.1 on 9.November in DVD sales. It is a new record as they have sold 428,000 copies, which exceeds even KAT-TUN's "Real Face Film" DVD with a total sale of 374,000 copies. Arashi broke another record of DVD sales, because it is the first time that a Music DVD exceeds 400,000 copies on the first day.

Super popular idol group Arashi released their latest DVD, 5x10 All the BEST! CLIPS on the 28th last month. Selling 428,000 copies, they broke the previous record held by Kat-Tun for their March 2006 release of Real Face Film. Not only did they set a new record, but their 5x10 All the BEST! CLIPS is the first music DVD to sell past 400,000 copies. It comes as no surprise that Arashi took the top spot on the Oricon Charts for November 9th. Similar to their compilation album, All the BEST! 1999-2009, released back in August, the DVD is to commemorate Arashi's 10th anniversary.

The 26th annual Best Jeanist awards were presented on Sunday. For the fourth consecutive year, KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenashi and singer Kumi Koda were voted #1 in the public selection category.

More than 70,000 votes were counted between October of last year and this past August. Kamenashi won another clear victory with almost 26,000 votes, while Arashi's Masaki Aiba came in second with about 8,500 votes. Koda, on the other hand, received 7,000 votes to beat aiko (5,500 votes).

This gives both Koda and Kamenashi a chance to win their fifth awards next year, which will place them in the "hall of fame" and remove them from future ballots. So far, Takuya Kimura, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, and Ayumi Hamasaki have been put in the hall of fame.

For the committee selection awards, the winners were Miyuki Hatoyama (the wife of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama), DAIGO, and the group SPEED. In the international category, which was established last year, Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan received the award.
