[NEWS] Oricon’s spring dorama expectations ranking

As usual Oricon made a survey to find out the most anticipated dorama of the new season as well. Unsurprisingly "Tsuki no Koibito ~Moon Lovers~" starring Kimura Takuya (37) topped this ranking as well and Oricon expects some very high ratings for this dorama.

Tsuki no Koibiti will be Kimutaku's first real love story in 10 years and star him as the company president of an interior design company. "It's a getsu9 dorama and it has Kimutaku, it's impossible not to have very high expectations," a female teenage voter said. However, it's not just him people are looking forward to. "I'm really excited, because it's Shinohara Ryoko's comeback dorama," another female voter in her thirties commented.

Second place goes "Team Batista 2" starring Ito Atsushi (26) and Nakamura Tooru (44). During the first season the two of them have already proven to be a great team and gathered a lot of male fans. In fact, this dorama would have topped the ranking if they've only counted the male voters. Third place goes to the dorama adaption of the fantasy comedy manga "Kaibutsu-kun" starring Ohno Satoshi (29) of the popular group Arashi.

"Shinzanmono" starring Abe Hiroshi (45) and Kuroki Meisa (21) made it on the fourth place while the Twitter dorama "Sunao ni Narenakute" starring Ueno Juri (23) and Eita (27) unfortunately only ranked fifth. The biggest surprise of the ranking is the fact that "Mother" didn't make it into the Top 10.

Top 10:
01 – Tsuki no Koibito ~Moon Lovers~ - Kimura Takuya, Shinohara Ryoko, Kitagawa Keiko
02 – Team Batista 2: General Rouge no Gaisen - Ito Atsushi, Nakamura Tooru
03 – Kaibutsu-kun - Ohno Satoshi, Kawashima Umika
04 – Shinzanmono - Abe Hiroshi, Kuroki Meisa
05 – Sunao ni Narenakute - Ueno Juri, Eita
06 – Gegege no Nyobo (morning dorama) - Matsushita Nao, Mukai Osamu
07 – Keibuho Yabe Kenzo - Namase Katsuhisa, Kanjiya Shihori
08 – Yankee-kun to Megane-chan - Narimiya Hiroki, Naka Riisa
09 – Zettai Reido: Mikaiketsu Jiken Tokumei Sousa - Ueto Aya, Kitaooji Kinya
10 – Tumbling - Yamamoto Yusuke, Seto Koji

[NEWS] A breezy PR event for “Wagaya no Rekishi”

Fuji TV's 50th anniversary dorama special "Wagaya no Rekishi" has been completed and today the cast went up to the rooftop of said channel's Wangan Studio in Tokyo to make the happy announcement. One by one the all dressed up cast walked along the red carpet laid out on the roof.

Spring welcomed the cast with a very strong breeze, much to the agony of those wearing dresses, but at least it didn't rain. Starring actress Shibasaki Kou (28) said a few words about the dorama. "Having seen the complete version, I just fully realized how much our current way of life is connected to the smiles and sorrows of the people from the past."

Writer Mitani Kouki is said to have been working on the script of this special dorama for more than 5 years. It's a dorama with a family oriented theme and a story that follows the always cheerful Yame family through all the big historical events of the Show era like World War II, the US-Japan Security Treaty conflicts, the Tokyo Olympics in 1964 and so on. We will be able to relive all those moments through their eyes, with all their smiles and their tears and never-ceasing brightness despite the numerous hardships.

Mitani was happy about the blue sky for the event. "This day has finally come. Such a strong wind feels more like a punishment, but I'm still glad that we have such a nice weather." Actress Eikura Nana (22) plays the youngest child of the family and also said a few words about this nearly 8 hours long epic dorama special. "In the beginning I thought 7 hours would be really long, but I ended up watching the whole dorama in one night. I'm very happy that I'm able to stand here today," she said. "It's 8 hours long!" Mitani had to correct her. "Did you actually watch it until the end?" He joked.

Shibasaki further commented on how it was to work together with such a wonderful cast. "I'm not married and don't have any children yet, but during the filming I definitely experienced how it must feel like to have a family." Regarding child actor Kato Seishiro (8) she added, "His way of thinking is very mature and it was him who actually taught me a lot of things at the set." Of course Kato replied in a very mature way, "No, you taught me!"

Satou Kouichi, Matsumoto Jun, Sato Ryuuta, Horikita Maki, Nagasawa Masami, Tamayama Tetsuji, Takada Junji, Fuji Sumiko, Nishida Toshiyuki and director Kono Keita all appeared at the event as well.

The three consecutive nights of Wagaya no Rekishi will start on the 9th at 9pm.

[NEWS] Criticism towards “Tokujo Kabachi!!”

"Tokujo Kabachi!", a dorama starring Sakurai Sho (28) and Horikita Maki (21) has now officially been criticized by the Japanese bar association, it has been learned today.

The dorama focuses on the work of notary publics and their settlement negotiations. Now the Osaka bar association claims that the characters of the dorama often actively violated the Bengoshi-Ho, the Lawyers law. There is something called the Hiben Katsudo, a law that exists for the prevention of non-attorney activities. It basically says that only lawyers may claim recompenses in cases of traffic accidents, divorces, insolvency, debts and so on. Notary publics are no lawyers and therefore they have no right trying to get recompenses from the other party.

There may have been situations where the characters in TokuKaba exceeded their powers, but it's based on a manga and just a fictional story. However, the bar association sees it as a promotion of such acts and wrote TBS a letter voicing their protest against the dorama. They are not suing them or anything, but they expect an apology in form of canceling any DVD and rebroadcasting plans.

[NEWS] 210 thousand applications from nationwide! 1100 people came to drama preview!

Arashi member, Masaki Aiba, presented on the 4 cities simultaneous preview of the drama ‘My Girl/マイガール' in which he starred. “It's a little bit embarrassed to watch on such a big screen. It's a warm story though sad things happened. I'm very happy to challenge new stuff in the 10th anniversary of Arashi.” said by Aiba.

‘My Girl' is based on the same title serial manga in Comic Weekly. Kasama Masamune (Aiba) received the obituary of the girl, Yoko, who disappeared 6 years ago. Meanwhile, Masamnue found that Yoko secretly gave birth to his son and he decided to live with him, Koharu. The drama focuses on the communication between Masamune and Koharu. Aiba was wearing high school uniform in the drama, “Once I put on the uniform, I feel like becoming a taxi driver. I also tried to put on glasses and change my hair style. It's 120 point to me.” said Aiba, “It's kind terrible to be looked at by other members in Arashi. So I had them send it to my house.” said Aiba while smiling.. “The common point with the role I played is being indecisive. We are just the same!” When he was asked about the “ideal woman”, Aiba said: ”Those who come to Arashi's concert!” Cheers burst in the meeting hall, “It's good for a man who can express embarrassing things in a light way.” People around him had a tender feeling.
