[NEWS] Ninomiya to Show Importance of ‘Love and Care’ in Upcoming TV Drama

In the summer of 2007, the movie ‘Life~天国で君に逢えたら~ / Life~Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara~ [lit. If I were to see you in heaven]’ moved many people to tears. The movie was based on the novel written by world class pro windsurfer Iijima Natsuki. Now the novel ‘天国で君に逢えたら / Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara’ will be adapted into a TV drama starring Ninomiya Kazunari!
The refreshingly touching story tackles such difficult topics as ‘cancer’ and ‘death’. The main character is the psychiatrist Nonoue Junichi, who provides mental care for cancer patients.

Nonoue helps patients in a counseling room of a hospital specializing in cancer therapy. After hearing the agonies and anguishes expressed by patients facing death from end-stage cancer, Nonoue decides he must do something to alleviate their pain and fear. He becomes a ‘postman’ who delivers letters from the patients to their loved ones.

Nonoue listened to the patients reveal the feelings they were harboring deep inside, and composed them into letters to give to the patients’ family and relatives. The feelings and thoughts included worries about their illness, pain, anger, despair, fear of death, and care for the family members they must leave behind. The way Nonoue becomes a bridge between the patients and families is bound to bring tears to anyone who watches the drama!!
